The colors are important in choosing clothes diving or snorkeling?

I have read that some guys call SCUBA anything yellow (ie, fins, Rashguard, etc) "Yum Yum", yellow, due to the possible care you receive from the sharks, barracudas, etc. Is this true? But again, I hear no black is so good, either because the seals are in black. When choosing gear / clothing is color important? Any suggestions? Thank you.
