Paintball ?: Can you fill a 48ci/3000psi Pure Energy Aluminum HPA/N2 tank with a 72CF Steel Scuba tank?
I want to switch from CO2 to HPA for obvious reasons, but dont know much about it.
I am looking at buying a 72CF LP Steel Scuba tank w/ a free-flow valve. I already have the fill station that attaches to the tank, my question is; Do i need a different valve? Does the valve need to be regulated on the scuba tank? Can i just hook-up and go?
I have a 48ci/3000psi Pure Energy Aluminum tank. Can i fill this with the scuba tank mentioned above? Do i need to buy anything else (yes i have the fill station for the tank)? Do i just watch the PE tank's gauge to hit 3000 (roughly) then turn off the air?
Any help is appreciated. As you may know, it costs a little bit to invest in this equipment and i dont want to buy the wrong tanks.
Thanks
As long as you have a hose that one end connects to the scuba tank and one to the PE tank, just connect and go. I'd suggest you open the PE valve first, then slowly open the scuba valve and fill the PE tank slowly. The LP scuba tank is only 3000psi so you do not need to watch the pressure gauge on the PE tank.
I'd also suggest getting a high pressure steel, if you are going to spend the money on a steel scuba tank and not aluminum (but then you will have to watch the PE pressure gauge).
